Whats what for Weddings in 2014…!

Were back and Happy to be out of hibernation! We have made¬†some changes, ¬†and we hope you like ūüôā ¬†It has definitley been awhile and we are back with LOADS¬† to dish on the latest trends and styles ¬†for Weddings¬†¬†in 2014.

As you all know its officially Wedding Season.  With that being said,  if you are already in the process of planning your wedding you may be overwhelmed with all the wedding pop up ads, and confused as to which pinterest board speaks to your wedding dream day. Here is a straight to- it guide on whats in for 2014, in the areas that matter most when it comes to walking down the aisle.  What know more?! Well keep reading. It gets better!

Ceremony

The most important part of the wedding, but often times overlooked when it comes to making a statement on the Big Day.  Trending this year when it comes to ceremonies is the  couples recessional .  Some might say what the hell is the recessional and what does that have to do with the ceremony? The recessional is the first moment after the ceremony the Bride and Groom introduce themselves to world as a married couple. Instead of the traditional flower petals or rice toss try something your guests wil truly remember. Like dazzling Sparklers or  be different and do something that symbolizes something special like the first time you met at the bike park with a bike line recessional! Whatever you decide remember Bold is Better!  Another ceremony statement for you to think about.. Guess.. you know what Im going to say.. that;s right Bridesmaids dresses! That washed up tradition of  all your Bridal party wearing the same ugly taffeta dress is out the window. Keep it Chic n Unique with ever so popular ombre or two tone brides maids dress. And our personal favorite the very non- traditional idea of totally bridal gowns but with the same color tone. Ladies if your Bridal parties body types are completely  different  this option is the Best FIT for them.

Reception

The most anticipated part of the Wedding , the good ole reception. So many important elements when it comes to planning a memorable wedding reception. One of the most important things to remember is SIGNAGE. We are not just talking about signs to point out the direction of the bathroom ( which is also important) but signage that will represent the theme or mood you want to express. This year I have seen so many creative ways to display¬†guest seating assignments¬†and¬†instructions for beautiful guest book¬†tables. I’m absolutely in love with the escort¬†envelope wall!¬† And¬†of course those¬†beautiful hanging mirror signs.¬†¬†All of¬†these elements are perfect ways to¬†add a little something extra¬†special to build¬†those lasting memories ūüôā

Decor

Yeessss, over the top,  gaudy wedding decor is BACK!  From lux rental pieces like mirror top tables, gold crystal candelabaras, and extravagant floralscapes,  all perfect decor elements for a signature wedding. For those with a more contemporary taste, architectural centerpieces; with a  focus on shapes and height,  are becoming more  and more of an industry trend. Dare to be Different folks!  And for the for those vintage rustic brides out there, the Tuscan table is EVERYTHING when it comes to the perfect country wedding design. My favorite design element this season is the luscious wedding table flower garland. A little pricy but what better way to get the WOW-FACTOR your are looking for then a  anaconda arrangment of goregous blossoms running across your tabletops! (Stay tuned for more blogs tips on how -to make your own garland and accomodations for weddings on a budget.)

Food & Beverage

When it comes to what’s on the menu and what’s to drink its all about appealing presentation and mouthwatering flavor’s! Couples are no longer using that standard hotel bartender. Unique companies are popping up all of the place, that strictly specialize in custom bar designs and signature drink menus catered to the Bride and Grooms personal taste. What would your signature drink be called or taste like ?

MERRY CHRISTMAS & CHEERS TO THE NEW YEAR!!

Wow, I can’t believe 2013 is coming to an end! 2013 has been an amazing year for S.H.E. Event Planning. We have branched out and had the opportunity to work with some amazing people. Inspired by the new Hits Tv series American Horror Story: The Coven and Witches of East End. I decided to TRANSFORM my dining room and  do a  dinner party table with elements that reminded me of witches, love spells, and their powerful magic!

We draped the table with Creepy little Creatures and Spider Webs!  Whats Halloween without a couple of insects to make your skin crawl!

 This Glitter N Gold Skull- Rose Place Setting was above all my favorite element of the dinner Party! This was a very simple DIY addition to our tablescape design to give a hint of Glam but still SCARY!!!

Boston’s Best Neighbor Award Ceremony!

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of working with Vargas & Vargas Insurance Company for their annual contest for the Boston’s Best Neighbor Award. This contest honors several different individuals¬†for their activism and philanthropy service to their local Boston¬†communities. S.H.E. Event Planning was recruited to make sure the¬†event night went¬†off smooth¬†and all the Honorees and Guests felt like they were real celebrities at a red- carpet event, Take a look at all the action!

Honey N Tea Party!!!!

We almost forgot to post the pics from our latest event!  On Labor Day weekend, we had the opportunity of hosting a Fun event we called the Honey N Tea Party!

The theme for this event was inspired by Classic Winnie The Pooh. I organized this event for some close friends of mine and their children. Being that we live in the city of Boston, It’s not that likely that¬†our city kids¬†or their parents will ever attend a tea party. Anyone can host a tea party and it doesn’t have to be for any particular reason. Any reason is¬†perfect to dress up, look good and eat good. So the¬†Honey¬†N Tea party was born!

 One of the major components for this event was the Honey Snack Bar. The overall design concept for the snack bar was a woodsy-rustic feel with a hint of elegance, being that it was for a tea party. All the snacks on the snack bar were all Honey flavored except one. The snacks included:

(All food items were purchased from Family Dollar. The Pizza dough purchased from Stop & Shop was rolled into balls and dropped in a deep fryer. Then I coated them in powdered sugar and cinnamon a few moments before the tea party began!)

The Honey N Tea Party Activities: included story time and a Scavenger Hunt. I wrote and created a personalized story book called the Honey N Tea Party Adventure. The story was about Pooh and his friends getting ready to go to a Honey N Tea Party where they must bring and share their favorite things. But Pooh and the Gang can not find their favorite things so they must get help from the Guests at the Tea Party( here I listed our actual Tea Party guests in the book!)

After I read to the kids we began the scavenger hunt. All the kids received a scroll which acted as a map for all the items they must find.

  • Make a Weekly Activity¬†List ! –¬† With a Hectic work schedule, and multiple after school activities, creating a visible weekly activity list for the whole family will keep everyone track and one step ahead of the game each week!

  • Balance Time & Eat Right! –¬† We all know how hard it is to cook¬†a full course¬†meal every night, let alone eat healthy throughout the day.   • Fall into Fashion!-¬† The best part of any season changing is¬†switchin¬†up your¬†fashion style. Get¬†creative this¬†Fall and experiment with your everyday ensemble choices. Dont be afraid to¬†sport those bright autumn colors and be adventurous with your hair! If you usually wear your hair straight try rockin it curly! And remember Fall fashion always calls for a vintage suede or leather jacket and cowboy boots!
